Kalan’s Korner Returns!

Wow…hard to believe its been so long since I last posted anything “real” to the blog.  But then again, these last couple of months have been absolute chaos round these parts - most of which I’ll get to…I hope.

In any case - WELCOME!  To the new home of Kalan’s Korner on the web!  Many of you have likely been to the old site in the past, and may notice a number of things are currently missing from this incarnation - namely most of my old Shaintar campaign pages.  Well - in the process of getting this new version of the Korner up and running, I just haven’t had a chance to really dig into the behind the scenes stuff yet to update all the myriad links, images, and what not (as all the links still point to the old site).  I’m hoping now that things are calming down somewhat on the Kingston homestead, I’ll be able to start digging back through all the old posts and pages, and update the links to the new site.

“Huh?  You moved?”

Ummm…yah…sorry bout that folks.  As I mentioned at the outset - things have been a little crazy round the Kingston homestead these last few months since my last posting (omg!…back in February!)  To make a long story less long - I basically hit a really bad downturn, as I was awaiting my Danish residency to come in.  I just got so distracted waiting on it, trying to find a job, worrying about money - I got a little down on myself, and ended up letting a lot of things slide.  Not a great excuse I know - but that’s how it is.

But that’s all settled now (as of mid-March actually), so now I’m all happy…I have a bank account again, still can’t really go to the doctor (still awaiting my dang medical insurance card thing) - but at least I can officially work and everything - and get to use my own bank card to boot!  Yay me!

Mind - that doesn’t really explain the whole “why the heck did you move Kalan’s Korner” thing.  Well - to make a long story REALLY short, Kevin W. Melka, my boss over at Digital Adventures, came up with this idea for a brand spanking new Online community site to support two of my gaming “loves” - those being Savage Worlds and Fantasy Grounds (this new venture is called Savage Worlds Online, so come on by and check us out!)

So he came to me, not really sure why to be honest, and he wants the Korner to be the “official” blog for this new venture.  Naturally I was a little…well awed to be honest.  I really didn’t think many people actually took what I say seriously!  So there I was trying to move everything over to the new site, wrapping up a whole pile of Savage Worlds Fantasy Grounds II Ruleset releases (all told I think we’ll have eight or nine products coming out in May), my first editing job for Talisman Studios (which is now completed - Thanks Martin for ALL the patience!), starting my second editing job for Talisman Studios…gah, its just been a hellish couple of months.

So there it is in more or less a nutshell.  I know Kevin’s thinking “there’s not a whole lot of SWO in this official post Vincent*, but hey - I gotta start somewhere.  I’m going to be aiming for at LEAST one post a week, of somewhere in the neighbourhood of nine hundred words or so.  Not sure what kind of topics I’ll cover in those posts - but I’m sure something will pop into my brain that’s a little more gaming related than my babbling on about my life.

Oh…and before I forget - the much cuter half and I went to a huge medieval market here in Danmark this past weekend, so here’s some pics of it! (If I can convince my beloved, I have a picture of her holding this awesome staff I bought while there, but she doesn’t like to have her pics posted online ;) )

The band in the first picture is called Fistula, and they’re just awesome!

But I think that’s about it for now.  Yes folks - the Shaintar stuff, including some NEW Shaintar gaming goodness, will be coming back, but for now I just need to finish up some other things first.

Peace all!!!
